2019-2020 Executives

Kayli Chen

Birthday: Feb 28th, 1998
Program: Neuroscience & Psychology Double Major + Physiology Minor
Personal Bio: Hi friends! During the rare instances where I’m not sleeping or studying, you’ll probably find me playing League of Legends or watching the NBA. I’m also a big fan of spoken word poetry and I like to think that I’m fairly approachable, so please feel free to reach out to me with any questions that you have (or if you just want to talk about basketball)!!
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: Cry it out!

Karen Mao

Birthday: Aug 10th, 1999
Program: Pathobiology Specialist + Sociology Minor
Personal Bio: I am a proud shower singer, a K-pop lover and an uncoordinated dancer who can only dance to one song. I have spent my last 9 years practicing Hammered Dulcimer, which is a super heavy Chinese traditional instrument that nobody has heard of. So if you want some exotic fresh unique background melody (noise really) for your party, please let me know! I can’t wait to see you all at our events!
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: Watch A TON of videos where people make or eat delicious food and decide where I am going to eat tomorrow (likely MS cafe).

Iris Liu

Birthday: May 25th, 2000
Program: Neuroscience & Physiology Double Major + Psychology Minor
Personal Bio: Hello amazing human beings! I’m Iris and I’m just a life sci student who takes extra naps. This is my second year being a part of the MSSU, and I love this amazing family! I have a slight obsession with beanies, animals, cacti, and food. My secret talent is that I can eat a lot. If you need someone to talk to or have any suggestions for the MSSU, feel free to reach out to me. See you at our events!
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: Really depends: sometimes I roll myself into my fluffy blanket and squeeze my snorlax plushie, sometimes I just eat multiple servings of instant ramen

First Year Reps:

Roofaidah Haque

Birthday: October 20th, 2001
Program: Life Sciences
Personal Bio: Hey cuties, I’m Roofaidah and I am a Life Sciences student. I’m also the first year rep of MSSU (a group of amazing people who wants make your uni experience 1000x better). I love swimming, Spider-Man, Netflix and cotton candy. I like singing, playing the guitar and piano even though I’m not very good;). If you ever want to talk or anything, come say hi or send me a message. I’m really short so don’t be scared. Also, see you at our events!!
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: I honestly have no idea. But I guess when I’m feeling down, I listen to music, I go swimming or watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine with subtitles and eat food ?

Rachel Yang

Birthday: April 15th, 2001
Program: Life Sciences
Personal Bio: Super excited to be a part of the MSSU family as a first year student! I mostly spend my time studying and eating, sleep really hasn’t been in the picture (⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎). Since I’m from Vancouver, I am going to put emphasis on how much I love food because if anyone knows any good food places in Toronto, please let me know! See y’all at MSSU events!
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: The best way always is to eat ramen and watch Netflix. If you don’t have ramen, you can always watch mukbang videos. If all fails, I just take a nice nap!

Second Year Rep:

Nat Heayn

Birthday: June 28th, 2000
Program: Pathobiology Specialist+ Physiology Major
Personal Bio: Hey, I hope you’re having a good day! If not, hit me up for some song recommendations! Right now I’m listening to a lot of Bazzi ?. I love to sing, work out (reach AC!), and whine about classes ?. When I’m not doing that I often think about random things like whether I would want to be able to read people’s minds, or what it would be like to be able to always make the right choices ?. Looking forward to seeing you all around at MSSU events!
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: Singing along to loud music (karaoke?), hitting the gym, writing in a journal, talking to friends and amazing people like those on the MSSU!

Upper Year Reps:

Bonnie Ong

Program: Health & Disease Specialist + Physiology Major
Personal Bio: Hey everyone! Wandering around the city is one of my favourite things to do, especially when I find a place I’ve never been to before. I also LOVE to read and can’t stop myself from always wanting to buy more books. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard the birds start chirping outside and seen the sun begin to rise because I couldn’t put my book down. If you have any recommendations, please send them my way!
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: I go for a walk while listening to music 🙂

Ya Ping Guo

Program: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Personal Bio: Hey, I’m an introvert who likes visual arts. I admire architecture, interior design, and painting. Although watercolour is my preferred medium, I enjoy experimenting with different media. I especially like traditional Chinese painting, impressionism, and minimalism. I also like cooking and baking, but I enjoy the eating part more! Please feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to or have any suggestions for the MSSU, I’m here to listen 🙂
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: A hot cup of tea or coffee!

Academic Advisors:

Stella Schneckenburger

Birthday: October 12th, 2000
Program: Physiology Specialist + Immunology Minor
Personal Bio: Hi everyone!! I’m Stella, a seriously sleep-deprived second-year with big dreams and a bigger heart. Although most of the time I’m crying…erm, I mean studying…I also love to dance, spend time outdoors, and feed chimpmunks. If anyone needs a smile, a hug, or just someone to listen, I’ll always be here :))) It’s my second year on this incredible MSSU team as well, so I can’t wait to see you all at our events and once again embark on this amazing journey with you!
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: Sitting/walking outdoors, dancing to extremely loud music, and… hugging my mom

Audrey Yee

Birthday: April 3rd, 2000
Program: Human Biology & Molecular Biology Double Major + Immunology Minor
Personal Bio: Hellooo friends! I’m a bubbly person who loves singing and playing the cello, but always too afraid to perform. ☺️ You would either find me wandering around campus or barely staying awake in Gerstein. If you ever need someone to talk to or just babble, need a hug or a companion to go eat/explore the city, I’m always here for you 🙂 I can’t wait to see you in the events! ❤️
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: Going for a stroll while listening to ‘peaceful guitar’ playlist on spotify :o)

Kevin Pham

Birthday: December 14th, 2000
Program: Human Biology & Cell and Molecular Biology Double Major
Personal Bio: Hi there! I spend most of my time on campus, as it has proven to be more lively than home. I like to study in Gerstein’s Journal Stacks and the uncharted A.D. Allen Chemistry Library in Lash Miller Chemical Laboratories! (Trust me, the latter one exists) I enjoy eating strange seafoods, and I love the smell of lavender. I can’t wait to work with the MSSU!
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: I try to listen to really upbeat music and watch lots of youtube…

Andrew Wang

Birthday: July 1st, 2000
Program: Physiology Specialist + Pharmacology Major
Personal Bio: Hey there! If you are at the Atheletic Centre and hear someone shouting “NICE UP!!!” in the Field House, that’s probably me playing volleyball. I have a loud voice and I love to sing off-pitch deliberately to make people laugh. Also, I’m a pretty chill guy that likes to cruise around the city on a longboard. So if you know any sweet spots to longboard or just want to cruise around, please hit me up!
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: Play League of Legends with my friends and troll them xD.

Clara Lee

Program: Pharmtox Specialist + Physiology Major
Personal Bio: Hello hello! I’m glad you scrolled to the very bottom of the page and found me. Yay! I love being in nature. ???️ This can be anything from going on family road trips, watching the sunset at Scarborough Bluffs, to growing potatoes in my garden (although not anymore with the harsh winters in Toronto ??). I enjoy listening to Hillsong on my morning commutes, and am a big fan of Earl Grey ice cream. I will be working as MSSU’s Webmaster this year, maintaining and updating the MSSU website as well as Facebook and Instagram accounts. Can’t wait to see you at our next event 🙂
How do you cheer yourself up after a very bad day: Look at old vacation photos, vacuum the house, go on a YouTube adventure, and listen to some more Hillsong ?
